The project provides a study of prospects for capacity building of existing border crossing points and opening new ones. Moreover, it focuses on the investigation of the capacity of existing and planned network of transshipment and multimodal terminals in Ukraine and neighboring EU member states (three of which are countries of the V4 region), and on the assessment of prospects for adaptation of the European and Ukrainian freight markets to the requirements of the European Green Deal.
The project activities include a number of events (discussions, round tables, conference) as well as analytical materials and research articles based on the project's results.

Based on the research results of the throughput capacity of the border infrastructure along the Ukraine-EU border and the Round table, the project participants prepared and disseminated to key stakeholders an Analytical Report.
According to the results of the study of the development of the infrastructure of multimodal transportation in Ukraine in the context of the change of transport and logistics routes in the conditions of war an Analytical Report.

Dolishniy Institute of Regional Research of NAS of Ukraine has been an organizer of the event. This is already the second public event within the project.
Khrystyna Prytula, Coordinator of the Project, Head of the Cross-Border Cooperation Sector, IRR NASU, Dr. delivered a speech in which emphasised on the main results and achievements of the project for 9 months.
At the round table, the project partners have presented the results of research on multimodal transportation in Ukraine and neighboring EU countries, the development of transhipment infrastructure, in particular in border regions, as well as the current state and prospects for improving the organizational and legal environments for the development of multimodal terminals in Ukraine, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania.

An International Conference «Prospects of Building the Infrastructure Capacity on the Freight Corridors in EU-Ukraine Border Area» took place.
The organizers of the event were WSB University (Poland), Dolishniy Institute of Regional Research of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (Ukraine), Institute of Geography of the Slovak Academy of Sciences (Slovakia), University of Debrecen (Hungary), University of Oradea (Romania). This is already the third public event within the project.
The congratulatory messages were delivered by Director of the Research Institute on Territorial and Inter-Organizational Cooperation, WSB University, Poland, Prof., Dr. Joanna Kurowska-Pysz; Deputy Director for Research of the Dolishniy Institute of Regional Research of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Ukraine, Prof., Dr Iryna Storonyanska; and Project Coordinator, Head of the Cross-Border Cooperation Sector, Dolishniy Institute of Regional Research of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Ukraine, Assoc. Prof., Dr Khrystyna Prytula.
During the conference, project partners presented the results of research on the development of infrastructure for freight corridors along the Ukraine-EU border. This included the establishment of logistics routes for cargo transportation, increasing the capacity of border infrastructure, promoting multimodal transportation in Ukraine and neighboring EU countries, as well as the implementation of green technologies and innovations in freight transport and multimodal terminals.
